UKUMARU

Fukumaru is a rice developed by Ibaraki Prefecture. The grains are large and sweet. They absorb water and flavor well, making it an excellent choice for soup dishes. The name comes from the fact that the grains are fat and round like Buddha's belly and will bring you good fortune.

Our Ubara rice is vacumm packed with edible carbon dioxide to preserve flavor. This rice stores well and has a long shelf life. We named our rice Ubara because it can hibernate just like animals do.
