This Cast Iron Rice Cooker is a traditional ‘Kama pot’ designed for rice cooking. This Edo-era style pot with a wooden lid is given a stylishly modern update with a compact sized boiler pot that is made suitable for the modern kitchen. The outer layer of the cast iron pot is coated with black lacquer for rust prevention and the inner wall is finished with abura-yaki, a traditional oil burning method used to prevent rice from sticking to the surface. Rice cooked in this pot retains its natural flavour, as the thick cast iron wall heats contents evenly to create tender and moist rice grains. This pot comes with two detachable handles for carrying, making it easy to serve straight to the table while heated.
This rice cooker is suitable for use on gas and induction hob.
